Whee..I just added 2 more platies to my 10 gal that only had one other.He was sort of freaked out (where did THEY come from ) but now hes used to them. Only one small problem. One I got seems to have ick ..but Im treating it and it seems under control.
If you purchased it from the pet store and just found out about the problem as soon as your placed it in the tank I'd scoop the fish up and take it back to the store before it has a chance to seriously infect the other. The pet store should give you your money back or at least a store credit I wouldn't advise buying any more fish from them for a couple of weeks (the infection is most likely not isolated to just one tank) so that they can get the problem under control. If you can't return the fish or if it's been in your care for more than a day or so make sure you call the pet store and inform them about their problem. Try using a product called quick cure (worked wonders for me and can be purchased at Wal-Mart) don't forget to take the carbon out of your filter. Best of luck with your new fish
