Here's how my second tank is currently looking. Decided to have a go at a moss tank with no other plants. I bought the Java Moss from eBay and it arrived in pretty poor condition, more brown than green. A couple of months later and it's starting to grow nicely. The Christmas Moss has done really well from the start. I hear about people complaining that Java Moss takes over, I really want this to happen.

Filtration is Fluval 205 and an Internal Fluval 4 for extra flow. No ferts or anything added.

I'm thinking it could do with a bit more height, let me know what you think.

Wow I love it!!! Looks great!
Your xmas moss looks such a light green, mine is much darker than that! grrr!
Looks fantastic tho :good:

again James...brilliant scape!

Why isn't this journal in the planted section? You certainly have the skills to grow plants well. Love the Crimbo moss. :good:

As for height, do you want any other plants or is it specifically moss?

Cheers Ian! Ha ha, you're obsessed with journals! I'll start one soon, I think I have some phone pics of the moss when it first went in.

Just moss, but different types, there's only two in there at the moment. I don't want any other plants because my other tank is my planted obsession, moss is quite low maintenance (so far). I'm looking at it and thinking it could do with more tall pieces of wood. Covered in moss obviously. Maybe a moss wall like lljdma's? I dunno I just think it's lacking something.

Thanks Weezawoo! Hoping the Java will take off now, not sure why the Xmas looks lighter, maybe it's the dark sand?

Wow, looks awesome, for height without adding more moss you could build up some more rocks under the ones with the moss on so once it really takes hold you'll have like a tall mossy mountain to the right. Then again would it clash with the root like wood thats covered in moss in which case could go for more wood. I saw a scape on this site just moss and roots which I loved and always wanted to do but I don't have the patience but I'm glad you do as you don't see a lot of scapes like yours. :good:

is you was to use either the crimbo or weeping moss it would look great. Preferably weeping moss (Vesicularia ferriei)

Cheers Steve, that tank you linked looks brilliant. I prefer wood over rocks, I've never been able to make rocks look right.

Good idea, I might give that a go at some point, cheers for the links. Can't really order any yet as I'm away next weekend for four days but I've used JJC before :good:

Looks beautiful!

At a glance it looks like there are pants rather than just moss.
