My heater (I don't know how many watts but I can adjust the temperature) is a bit long. Is it possible for the water level of breeding betta in a 10 gallon tank (regular kind) be 10 inches high? Thanks.
I would suggest you get a submersible heater, if possible. That way you can make your water level whatever you want. Otherwise, your fry may have a bit of trouble getting back up to the top, and dad will have to work harder to pick up the eggs and falling fry later on. It's definitely possible, but will probably be harder on the male. Some breeders breed in as little as 2 inches, but I prefer around 4 inches.
Yeah I know that's the problem. I'm trying to lower the heater by putting it at an angle but that's gonna be tricky. Hmmm....is it possible to leave like 3 inches of the heater unexposed to water or it might fry up....
