    Floating plants

Hi Guys, So I have a heavily planted tank (see photo) and have small floating plants, however the other day I uprooted a number of plants when trying to catch and re-tank a troublesome fish and left them floating on the surface overnight until the next morning when I replanted them - these...

    Gourami colour changing

Should’ve been clearer with my pictures - I have 6 in a 300L so 3 blue 3 yellow, some of those pictures are duplicates of the same fish just to show colouration - so from what you’ve said all yellows are male and 2 female blues one unknown, which in itself explains why the yellows are more...

Yeah, my orange ones are extra colourful and frilly - more so than they were when I bought them - so easily confused in a photo

    Gourami colour changing

Yep - I thought that might be an issue before I got them but when I went to Maidenhead aquatics (where I bought them) and spoke to them and also after researching online I thought it would be ok. Strange thing is, I have another 300L with 6 male dwarf gouramis and they all get on absolutely...

    Gourami colour changing

Hi, I have 3x 3 spot gourami and 3x gold gourami so a different colour variation on the three spot. Their colours have recently changed from lighter to darker and their behaviour has turned more aggressive/lots of chasing each other. I think this might be spawning but given that it’s a...

    Community Tank Mates

Yeah well that’s what I’m thinking. Maybe I don’t need a “statement” fish and I should just grow my tetra shoals and gourami group and once my plants have fully taken to the substrate and grown then it will look amazing. That’s insane that you have 45 cardinals in a 180! I have a 300L with 12...

    Community Tank Mates

I’m going to the shop tomorrow so will let you guys know what I end up choosing. I’m going to get 6 more cardinals to make a larger shoal of 18 and more Pygmy corydoras, just not sure what the “main” larger fish will be

    Community Tank Mates

Could a cichlid be aggressive though? A pleco might be a good option although they grow really big so might eat my smaller fish when grown. That being said, it would need to be a mid or bottom dweller, yes. Thanks for your suggestion :)
