I don't like the new look

What's done is done and they ain't no going back. It sure was sneaky the way it was done though. What's next ? We won't know until they've already done it. Guess I'm going to have to get over this because I still like this Great TFF Forum a lot.

    RO Buddie Help!

Sounds like you have it figured perfectly. It isn't difficult. I too am no plumber. If I can do this anybody can. And yes you are lucky as far as your water supply goes. Get a TDS Meter to check your water periodically. That will help you gauge your R/O membranes effectiveness. And don't forget...

I don't like the new look

I don't believe that. Stuff doesn't just stop working. In the first Star Trek movie, Star Trek :The Motion Picture (1979) Doctor McCoy famously says " I know engineers, they love to change things". He was right. You guys were just bored or high on Doritos and Pepsi.

    RO Buddie Help!

I just got an R/O unit. I have no space for it so I improvised a solution. The unit itself sits in the bathroom sink when I'm using it. I have a threaded faucet adaptor from Ace Hardware ($7.99) to connect the unit to city water. The waste water goes down the drain. This summer I'll drain the...

I don't like the new look

Why! What was wrong with the way it was ! I hate change just for the sake of change. I hate this !

Do You Listen To Your Fish?

I stopped listening to the fish when I heard some of the smart remarks they said. And to think of all the things I do for them. Just where, exactly, do they think that food comes from ? They called me a stupid air breather !

    Baby Danio rerio cannot swim

Sometimes fry will become what are known as belly sliders. Almost immediately after hatching the fry go to the waters surface to inhale atmospheric air to inflate their swim bladder. Some fail to do so. Anyway, that's what I've heard. Sounds goofy to me but who knows ?

Help! I Think My Fish Have Whirling Disease

Weird. We have whirling disease in trout streams here in Montana and last I heard the fisheries biologists are still stumped as to what is causing it.

    Stop the Madness

I remember when the under gravel filter was cutting edge technology. All I ever had was inside box filters with the really old style fiberglass filter floss that would stick in your hands like needles. Anybody remember that stuff ? All I use now is a sponge filter. Most power filters are too...

    First baby tetra

    That's just too cool !

    WHY ! ! !

I'm going to do like any other fry. When they are too big to be eaten then I'll put them with other fish. The one constant in the fish hobby. The little fish always get eaten. Nice of everyone to feel bad for my defunctive tank but it's just one of those things. I'm getting it replaced. No...

    WHY ! ! !

Tried out the test kit today. Didn't tell me anything I didn't know already. Water tests the same as what city water analysis shows. Still, I guess it's nice to have the peace of mind that your own verification provides. @Kritastrophe , yes I do have three gardneri fry. Slow hatching on the eggs...

    WHY ! ! !

Yep, perfectly flat. Just a freak thing. In my experience, tanks just do not leak so I was surprised. I have never worried about water chemistry. As far as cycling goes, I set up the tank and let it sit for a month then add fish. I don't monkey with additives of any kind. These Killie breeding...

    WHY ! ! !

I was all happy today. Went to the pet shop to pick up my new five gallon I ordered. Going to have another breeding set up for my other pair of Fundulopanchax gardneri Killifish. Got the thing home, filled it and it gushed water like Niagra Falls. Brand new tank ! I have never seen that happen...

    Hornwort stem

@Retired Viking that's why I hate snails. That hornwort will come back. It's tough. Remember, when snails check in they never check out. I am waging war against a pond snail infestation in my 20 gallon. I won't win but they'll know they've been in a fight.

    First baby tetra

Hey man ! That's great ! When fry appear on their own that's a sure sign that all is well.

Oscar digging holes n chasing off algae eaters

As far as I know that's just something they do. If there were eggs you would see them. Did that startle you ? @Metalhead88 what are your thoughts on this ?
