Couldn't Wait Until The 150Gal Was Done To Buy These Polys

They're only with the Africans until I finish setting up the 150 gallon, the Africans are greedy beasts I know. My endli was glad to have some buddies, they were all in the same tank originally.

The Battle Of The Slow Growing Poly

Sorry not to clarify, the tank is a 20gallon long, not 20 liters. I do 50-75% water changes weekly. All of my other fish have been growing well, just this little guy is the only issue. I am also concerned about the fact that he is always on the surface of the water, which is know is common with...

The Battle Of The Slow Growing Poly

I am in the process of setting up a 150 gallon for mainly different poly species and my 2 oscars. The problem is, my Senegal (which is currently in my 55 with assorted mbuna, my endi and oscars) hasn't grown too much from about 3/4 inches since I bought him a few months ago. I am very worried...

    Ich Or Sand?

I have a 55 gal mostly african tank that has 2 small oscars and 2 small bichirs (one Senegal and one delhezi) the oscars and bichirs are only temporary in this tank until I move and figure out a better situation for them. I have a large grain sand substrate that sticks to the fish on occasion...

    55 Gal Mbuna Setup

James, it's funny that I just saw this because I am currently getting rid of my crabro I got, they are brutal little monsters to the larger fish I have in the tank. Only that species too.

    Breeding Plecos, Who Wants What?

I've spawned a variety of different fish, and I work with my LFS which is pretty knowledgable as well, this was just an idea, I know that the zebras are pretty hard to come by, but I figured I'd see if anyone on here is interested in anything specific before I make any plans.

    Breeding Plecos, Who Wants What?

I may be starting a breeder tank soon, I was wondering if anyone is interested in specifics? I was debating getting a pair of zebra plecos.

    160Gal W/100Gal Sump Lake Malawi

Africans -.- it's so hard to find a peaceful mix, as soon as all starts to go well, they start picking one another off. Check the hardness, what are you using for a ph booster? Some of them tend to make the water too hard, I had to do a few frantic water changes when I was first starting to...

    Breeding Electric Yellows?

Be careful, sometimes one male african will bully a single female, ideally you want 3 females to a male so the aggression is spread.Sounds like you do have a male and female though. Good luck!

Thinking Of Going For Lake Malawi Cichilds

The filter should be fine, that's enough turnover, if you start getting dirty water or bad parameters, then rethink filtration. A lot of people will use crushed coral as a substrate to boost ph, or there are products that will boost ph as well. As far as stocking, 30-40 fish in a tank that size...

    160Gal W/100Gal Sump Lake Malawi

The more fish the better with the Africans. Especially with the labs, they can be really aggressive toward each other so it's good to have a good number to keep them from bullying as much. Can't wait to see the finished tanks!!
