    Black Worms In Tank!

I believe you want the active ingredient to be fenbendazole. Here's an article from an invert-based site I quite like...   http://www.planetinverts.com/killing_planaria_and_hydra.html

    Black Worms In Tank!

It's most likely planaria, a type of flat worm and isn't all that uncommon.   They can be a threat to very small/young slow moving fish/shrimp and can be removed by either a standard dog/cat worming tablet (look online for instruction how to use) or by a planaria specific treatment.

Should I 'dirty Up' A New Tank For Cherry Shrimp?

Take the heater out completely and don't replace it with another one yet. Check where the temp settles and if it doesn't need to be heated then that's a bonus. I don't have a heater in my Fire Red and Fantasy Blue tank (both Cherry types) and the temp fluctuates only a small amount between 20-21C.

Should I 'dirty Up' A New Tank For Cherry Shrimp?

Both Mama and I can attest to the fact that small volumes are much more difficult to control, temperature-wise. 27C seems a little too warm, is it just up there to boost the cycle a bit?

    Watch Dogs

I'm a Geerd :)   Here's a link or 2...   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iO7Bp4wmd_s   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgT1SgZK3y8   Some are doing more than others with it but it'll be fabulous. Although, it looks like Zik will be the only one on the planet able to use it in game! Ha!

    Sand Substrate

Yeah, that's very true.   For £3 a bag you can't go wrong!

    Upgrading My Shrimp Tank

I know! It got me rather excited as I quite like a wee drink! :)   Ah, you're right, I'm wrong. It might help with some bad stuff, but, you're right it has the opposite affect on Nitrates! Sorry about that, my mistake :)   I find the tabs from the sponge alright. There were about 5 in the one I...

    Sand Substrate

Black sand could work equally well, just so long as it's cory safe. Too jaggy and it can get stuck inside gills.   Dark substrate may even be preferred by your corries and they may even darken to match it and feel less vulnerable. The question of it being too dark is very subjective, I suppose...

    Upgrading My Shrimp Tank

Thanks again for the link. It is a friendly place for shrimp lovers!   Have you tried cooled-down boiled water yet, Mama? Granted it'll be difficult to get large volumes but it could help reduce some of the bad stuff for the time being until you source RO. Did you ever consider one of those...

    Sand Substrate

If you chose your plants very carefully and go for easy(ish) to grow ones, there's no reason why normal, cheap sand won't work. I have argos play sand and as well as cories loving to sieve through it, my banana plant, anubias, mosses and bulb type plants grow just fine with no extra ferts or CO2...

    Watch Dogs

Nice water cooling. I'm still playing Skyrim with about a bagillion mods...can't get enough of it. Any one seen some vids of the new Unreal Engine? Holy smokes!

    I Don't Like Your Tank

Well, I'll be the one to own up...I'm the type who clicks on the topics and doesn't comment.   For the most part it's because I'm unbelievably lazy (I actually prefer to think of it as an extreme form of energy efficiency) and the best I can muster at times is a mouse click. Moving both my hands...

    Fish Id

Unless you specifically want to breed the guppies I'd recommend all male as you'll become over-run quite quickly. If breeding's the aim then more females than males as close to 2:1 is best as that lone female will get pestered a lot! She might be able to cope but I wouldn't take the risk. It...

    Fish Id

Actually, you might be right, that could well be the female. Not hugely clear from the pic but the male with the snake-skin tail seems to be pestering her...

    Fish Id

All 3 of those guppies look male to me...I'd like to be corrected, especially if you were told that at least 1 of them is female. They all have very flat underbellies and are at least half of the total body, including the tail, coloured. Females tend not to have any colouring on their body at...

Api Master Test Photos - What Are My Readings? (I'm A Bit Colourbl

If I may make a suggestion, check your ph again after leaving some tap water out for about 24 hours to make sure there are no 'additives' still to gas off.

    "view New Content"

Sorry, should have been more specific... If you click View New Content, then on the bottom left there's a few options under a pink rectangle. Just make sure none of the options under 'Other' are not selected.

    "view New Content"

Its definitely an option on the left as suggested above. Just make sure none of those options are selected.

    Stocking Tank Help

No, it's not too many fish.   As a (VERY) rough guide, and a lot of people find this a rubbish way to stock, you can have about 1cm of total adult size fish per litre. There's another that's more conservative at 1inch of adult size fish per gallon and since you're in the US, let's use that one...
