Using limestone in filter with ph around 7.7-7.9 hardness around 13-14 No deaths in last 10 days. Caytfish are biggest in tank atm. Git them at 3" or so and cichlids were 1.5-2" I do have more rocks to add too. Love cichlids but they are frustrating to keep. Large tank lots of cave tunnels...

found shells already for cheap for alot of them getting 3 types of shells aprox 75 total for around 80$ with shipping(need shells for my hermit crabs anyways) doing coral sand to buffer my water to higher PH or i would do pool sand. Trying to find breeder/supplier in my area. tough find here...

Ok tank can process 5ppm in 20-24hrs with 0ammonia/nitrites readings. So question is snack feed how often as fish wont be added for 2 weeks or so. Every 2-3 days at half dosing or continue full dosing every other day?

Ill go with the theroy of 1/4 of your aquarium size as my theory. ill use inches instead of cm though.   my 160gal upcoming cichlid tank is 84" long so divide that by 4 = 21 inches of fish.   average cichlid is say 4-5 inches ....so for 21 inches that would allow me 5-6 fish only .....i think...
