Bristlenose Plecs Breeding Non-Stop - Worried About The Male?

Your guy is completely fine. How many females does he reside with?

    Blue Phantoms And Zombies?

I've never even seen a L70 in person before. Good luck raising yours!

    Tankmates For A Leopard Pleco

200 gallon tank? Well you shouldn't have to worry much about territorial disputes. Try grabbing a hypancistrus pleco for the tank considering they're comparable in size.

    Blue Phantoms And Zombies?

I can't provide you with any advice related to the L70 plecos since I've never owned one but I've raised several pleco species together before (including L128s and L66s) with very limited aggression, if any.  I'd say try placing them together (assuming your tank is large enough) and keep your...

Wow, very nice setups you have there!

    Nice! Very attractive tank!

    Two Pleco's In One Tank?

Only two?  Your plecos should be fine.  I've housed all kinds of plecos together before with limited problems.  They'll stay out of each other's way.  Just look for signs of injuries from time to time if you're concerned.

Can I Breed Plecos Successfully With Other Tankmates Present?

Thanks for the advice, you all.  I'll make sure my individual tanks are suitable for my plecos to breed by providing sufficient current and decor.     I like to raise cories with plecos cause they're peaceful and they eat any leftover food that the plecos  leave behind.  The schooling fish would...

Can I Breed Plecos Successfully With Other Tankmates Present?

I'm looking to set up some tanks for the purpose of breeding L066 and L134 plecos. I know most of mine are quite young so it could be several months or a couple of years before I expect to see anything. Anyway, I'm wondering if my plecos will breed while living with cory cats and some small...

What Plecoptera Is This And How Big Will It Get

I'd say it's a bushynose, but green phantom is a possibility.  The price you paid for it will tell you a lot cause a phantom is considerably more.

    My L134 Leopard Frog Plecos

Thanks, you guys!  These were wild caught and just released into my tank a few hours before the photos were taken.  Once they get more comfortable, I'm sure the colors will improve!

    My L134 Leopard Frog Plecos

Gorgeous indeed! I've got 6 of these, and each one is about 2-3 inches long.   Hoping to breed them when mature!

Here go a few pictures of some of my new L134 leopard frogs! My favorite of all plecos!

    Pleco Mom And Dad?

Hopefully they're a couple of bushynose plecos! Easy to identify!

    Driftwood Inquiry

Many people like to soak driftwood in hot water before adding to their tanks but all I actually do is rinse mine.  Like Lillefishy has indicated, it will stain your water.

    Driftwood Inquiry

I only purchase Malaysian driftwood and my BN plecos are as healthy as can be.  Good luck with yours.

    Plec Veggies

Do you know what kind of pleco you own?  If it's actually a species that enjoys fresh veggies, I'd recommend feeding it right before you turn off the lights at night.  Remove what's left in the morning.

What Type Of Wood Do Bristlenose Catfish Need?

Save money and grab some nice pieces of Malaysian driftwood. You won't be disappointed.

Can I Keep A Clown Pleco And Bristlenosed Plecs Together?

They should get along. If you're concerned about aggression, stock your tank with plenty of caves/driftwood.
  24. 5

    Pleco Cave

I think a 1 inch diameter cave will work just fine. I've stocked my tanks with caves of several sizes and the bushys always prefer the ones that barely fit them. Good luck on the project!

    Bristlenose

In order to encourage plecos to come out, you have to make sure they feel comfortable. In order for them to feel comfy, provide lots of hiding places in the form of driftwood, stones and caves.

    Aubergine

I've never tried feeding my fish this but if you do, let me know if they like it.

    A Small Herd Of Zebras

If you want a pleco you can occasionally see, I'd recommend a green phantom or the typical bushynose. This, of course, is just my opinion from my personal experience.
  28. 5

    A Small Herd Of Zebras

Absolutely true. I've had 2 zebras die on me and the first clue of illness was their willingness to be out in the open while I was observing.

    A Small Herd Of Zebras

Anyone who is newly considering L046 zebras needs to understand these guys are extremely timid even in comparison to other plecos. I did have 5 at one point and all they did was hide in their caves. Before deciding on some, just know you're going to be spending a lot of cash on a beautiful fish...

    A Small Herd Of Zebras

Woah! That's too much. There are better deals out there especially if you buy several at once.

    A Small Herd Of Zebras

Very nice looking L046s you have there! I've got one right now in a tank by itself. Hopefully it's not too lonely. I plan on getting more soon!

    Stick Cat

Nice looking cat! Maybe I need to grab one.

Couple Pics Of My L200 Green Phantoms

Oh yes, their colors are stunning! I also raise blue phantoms but I don't think they're as brightly colored as the greens.

    A Few Pleco Pics

Very nice photos! The leopard frog pleco is a personal favorite of mine. I've got 6 juveniles now (from Jeff Rapps), and looking to purchase a few more from someone else.

    Vegetables For Bristlenoses?

Try feeding green bell peppers. Just remove the seeds and anchor to the bottom with a spoon/fork. You won't be disappointed. Don't forget to remove after 6-8 hours.

    Choosing A Pleco

Mega clowns aren't too picky. You should be able to get away with veggie pellets, carnivore pellets and occasionally zucchini or potatoes. When feeding vegetables, I only leave slices in the tank for 6-8 hours (overnight). Good luck with your decision.
