Stocking Advice - Medium (?) Hardness

With your water hardness, I wouldn't go for the gourami and tetras. Livebearers, African cichlids and so on could work with these parameters. But if it's just a 57 liter tank, I wouldn't go for African cichlids either. An all male livebearer tank can work. Not always, but a hierarchy "can" be...

She could be pregnant or just well fed.

    Is this a guppy ?

Maybe. Could also be a female Poecilia reticulata. The strong scale pattern doesn't say anything about being a Poecilia reticulata or Poecilia wingei.

    Hypseleotris compressa

Well, in order to breed these fish, we need salt to make the water brackish. They won't breed in freshwater.

    Hypseleotris compressa

Empire gudgeon (Hypseleotris compressa)... A very beautiful gudgeon. They look somewhat aggressive but they're actually quite friendly. They're in my community tank. It takes quite long before they color up intensively and show their real sex. So, if you;ll buy young fish, you should be very...

    Is this a guppy ?

This is a to a wildtype reverted late male guppy. This does happen from time to time when people have different kinds of guppies that will develop to wildtype reverted males. A late male of such a wildtype will not develop clear coloration or even pattern and do have this strong scale pattern...

    Pregnant guppy or just ill?

Definitely a male. A tuxedo ivory guppy in this case. And yes, he's bend. There are multiple reasons why a guppy will develop a bend spine. Which is not a healthy situation for such a guppy. Depending on the cause of the bend spine, it can live longer or even shorter.

Is a heater always necessary for tropical fish?

One the biggest mistakes that people make is think that when we speak about tropical fish that it's neccesary to use a heater. Like Archerfish has already stated, it depends on the kind of fish we're talking about. The country of origin itself doesn't make afish tropical right away. It's the...
