Slightly different. Microgeophagus ramireze vs. microgeophagus altispinosus. I'm more more concerned with the four rams in the 29-gallon space. Think they'll be happy enough?

Yes, he's adapting well. He lives with just two Aeneus corys now, so there's no one for him to really bully since they pay him no mind. I guess you could say he's far more relaxed now too.

Just to put the capper on this episode here's a short video of the betta -- now nearly fully recovered -- enjoying his private abode. I haven't scaped it up yet other than the driftwood, hence the ugly plastic, but I've got some plants coming this week.

That is exactly what is happening. The Betta and the Gourami are getting tanks of their own. The Cherry Barbs and Rams get along famously.

Well, cherry barbs go with most fish, and dwarf gouramis are said to be good tankmates for rams. Yes, the betta was my idea. Back in my former hobby days (more than 20 years ago tbh) I had a betta who lived peacefully in my community tank for years. Guess I thought I could have that again.
