    Think I may well have hit my first problem, white spot. Now I've noticed small grain like spots on a few fish probably every 1/5 has one or two spots. I am best off treating the whole tank or removing the poorly fish?

    I assume the OP is referring to the goldfish waste becomming food for her catfish as many believe catfish as bottom feeders eat all the crap from the bottom. Wherever these goldfish end up I just hope you manage them correctly and ensure a better quality of life for all your fish!

    I also have a ruby shark who is lovely, doesn't bother with the tetra nor any other fish in the tank. I would just watch them in the lfs and specifically choose the shark you want! You may get a few grumbles about them all looking the same but if one shark is bullying the other fish you wouldn't...
