    Stocking Help

Hi there! I haven't been here in forever, but I am hoping to find some help. Actually, my dad called the other day looking for help through me and so here I am. He has a 30gal tank in his office and it has a rubber pleco and probably a dojo loach. The dojo has been in there for over 5 years, but...

Yep! It is a sign that all is well and you have a healthy fish :good:

    Help!

Agreed. Get them apart. She isn't ready and just putting them together isn't the way to go. Just from your picture I can also tell you that spawning on gravel isn't the best idea either. Also, do you have a plan for potentially hundreds of VT offspring?

    Breeding Tips?

What are you doing to condition them? What does your spawn tank look like and what is your process for introducing the pair?

    Whats Wrong With Veiltails?

He'll be just fine in a bag for an hour, that's a piece of cake for a betta :good: A couple of stories... I went with my friend to visit her boyfriend who was about 6 hours from my house. While we were there I went to a shop and bought a betta because we planned to head home in the morning...

    Whats Wrong With Veiltails?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with VTs as pets! They are a wonderful fish. The negative comments come from people wanting to spawn veils. Spawning them is basically a waste of your time and money and it does absolutely nothing for the fish as a whole. VTs are EVERYWHERE, you can't expect to...

    Never Get Too Cocky

I used my hands because it's easier and faster for me then using a cup. There are occasions when I have poured the fish directly into a cup from his/her tank, but bettas are such jumpers and especially when they notice they're water supply thinning that too many end up on the floor! Just always...

    Never Get Too Cocky

 I've never gotten a baby in my mouth, but plenty of microworms  I always start syphons with my mouth and I'm a pretty good judge with the big syphons for my larger tanks, but when it comes to the smaller ones I tend to get a mouthful

    Never Get Too Cocky

Sorry! I guess that would have been useful information, lol. I would do a teaspoon with every water change. :)

    Never Get Too Cocky

It's really hard to overdose fish, I've poured it straight on them before :look: If your fish are used to being fed with a dropper, you can give it orally too. Just for general maintanance, I would give a teaspoon or so for your 20. :good:

    Never Get Too Cocky

You're right about the slime coat being damaged by hands, that's why it's not recommended to pet or handle your fish extensively. In my personal experience however, I have done more damage with nets then I ever have with my hands. They are in contact with my skin for a split second and my fish...
