This lil trimming hitchiked in. The picture is out of focus o_O . I was hoping it would multiply but the plant has since disappeared. It had round leaves and it grew quickly.

About 30 mins from the time I cover the tank, one of my bettas goes in her floating log. She peaks out waiting for me to "tuck her in" every time.

I suppose 6 nerites and 8 bettas are a good cleanup crew. She was 100% healthy so that part will always be a mystery to me.

I got 5 koi bettas from Petco a couple months ago and one of them had hole in head disease. The first sign was lethargy and swelling/pineconing in the affected area. The lesion went away after a week and fishy made a full recovery. However I don't see any signs of it in your photos.

Personally I just wanted the biowheel to spin because there was a loud dripping sound that happened even if the water was filled all the way up to the filter output. I also am skeptical of the wheel BB being necessary.

I believe your pump is permanently slowed. Mine was, from siliconing the intake. I believe the biowheel speed is tied to the water speed. To fix this I place a peice of thin plastic between filter and cartridge, it speeds up the wheel because it forces the water on only one side of the wheel...
