3 Norman Lamp Eyes lost in first day

I'll definitely want to get more. The shop is going to sort me out, but want to wait to work out if there is something wrong with the school they got in. I'm very lucky with the shop, all very helpful and sounded genuinely sad I had lost a few of them. I have turned the light on now and I...

3 Norman Lamp Eyes lost in first day

Only 1 out of the remaining 6 seem to have any strength. The shop said the same about shipping. I just wanted to make sure there was nothing I was doing wrong/nothing I could do to save them. They suggested trying to offer them some blood worms to build up their strength, but none of them are...

3 Norman Lamp Eyes lost in first day

Just seems odd how they are dying over time. I was surprised that they brave enough to come out and eat in the evening after they had been in the tank for about 8 hours. I have kept the lights off since I put them in. I'm waiting for a call back from the LFS too.

3 Norman Lamp Eyes lost in first day

Hi everyone, I have a 110 liter (24g) planted tank, just over 2 months now. Started with 6 Black Phantoms about a month after setting up the tank and all levels going very well. They seemed very happy and active so just over a week later I added 6 Panda Cory's. The Panda's are super adorable...

    Newbie Planted Tank

Just wanted to send an update picture of my tank. Seems to be doing well and was fish ready after about 3 weeks. I have 6 black phantom tetra (2 males, 4 females), who have been making their home for the past week. They seem pretty happy! I'm still not 100% sure how to deal with the hair like...

I was going to use the fishless cycle here: https://www.fishforums.net/threads/cycle-your-tank-a-complete-guide-for-beginners.475055/ I had purchased Dr Tim's Ammonia, but do not want to set the plants back! I can continue as I am and get a few more floating plants as the planted/silent cycling...

    Newbie Planted Tank

Thank you for the helpful replies :) I am a little confused though as I have just tested with the Master Test Kit that just arrived. A week in and the results I have are: PH - 6.8 Ammonia - 0 ppm Nitrite - 0.25 ppm Nitrate - 30 ppm This is with no ammonia added or anything yet. I have read...

Thank you so much, I'm really happy with how it turned out! Some plants are already growing which is wasn't expecting so soon!

    Newbie Planted Tank

Thank you all. I'm just about to pop to the shop to grab some of those things I am missing, so I can get the cycle started! I will make sure to follow that guide too, it is very clear and helpful. Do you reckon I could carefully add some sand to half the tanks substrate to make an ideal area...

    Newbie Planted Tank

Thank you! :D I may be completely wrong here, but I thought the tank would cycle over time with the plants in? I have test strips but have ordered the master test kit too. I would like to get a school of 5 or 6 Panda Cory's to begin with...

    Newbie Planted Tank

Thank you all for the welcomes! And thank you Carissa for the tips on micros and macros. I will stop the CO2 and look out for those instead. I have used fluval stratum as the substrate, which I believe will give some goodness for the plants for a while. Someone I spoke to in my local store...

    Newbie Planted Tank

Hello! I'm Jay, I live in the UK and I've been wanting to get fish for years now, so I decided the other day to just go for it! I have a 110 litre tank/24 gallon tank (Juwel 110 primo to be exact). My tank has been planted for 3 days now, with daily 40% water changes for the first week...
