    That's what I suspected. Any idea what could have caused this? Because the other fish in my tank seem fine. And I've had him for over 2 months now.

    They did not tell me how to clean it, but I've just rinsed out the filter sponge once, not cleaned any other part of it. And what if I were to do a 25% every 2 weeks? Would that work for that many fish?

    I'm not sure how to check if the filter has developed bacteria, it's been going for over a month with fish in the tank. And the filter has a Bio-Bact cartridge in it.     Got these zebra danios 2 days ago, he was fine this morning and after feeding them flake food, he's stuck floating at the top of the water. he's still quite active as you can see, but he's not going down and seems to be slightly floating on his side at the top.

    I knew algae was fine, I've just never seen brown algae, so wanted to make sure it was all good. What about the black spots on the plant though? Is that also algae?
