Soil and mesh bags and established tanks?

Thank you so much. If it only needs to be managed for a couple of weeks would it be possible to keep on top of it for the fish with lots of water changes? I also have some emergency stuff that supposedly neutralises ammonia? Not sure if that's wise to use at all lol

Soil and mesh bags and established tanks?

Ahh no i haven't, I will go have a watch now, thank you! I think Tropica was one that leaches out lots of ammonia for a while?? Might be wrong there. I have thought about root tabs but my pleco and my cories are all fully grown and make quite a mess of things when they are foraging so I think...

Soil and mesh bags and established tanks?

Hi! Basically covered that in the title lol I'm sick of watching my planted plants perish and am under the impression I can use soil within mesh bags so I can keep my sand as a topper? Could anyone recommend which soil will be best for an established aquarium, I have lots of fish and don't...

How did you get into the hobby?

For me I think it started because I was obsessed with the Blue Planet series when I was little, I used to watch them all back to back on VHS, knew every sharks name in Latin 😂😂 ( no clue now lol) I was a bit underwater obsessed and wanted to be a marine biologist for many years growing up! I...

Bug bites? Food recommendations for my wet pets please!

Thank you everyone. I ended up buying some bug bites "colour enhancing" flakes and algae wafers (assuming they are also OK for my cories as there is so much insect protein in them!?) for my ground crew. Wow. Just comparing the ingredients to what I was feeding is very interesting. I'm a bit...

Bug bites? Food recommendations for my wet pets please!

Hello! Looking for recommendations for everyday food for my gang that is gonna make their colours pop! angel fish, honey gourami, peppered cory and green phantom. Seen a lot of good stuff about bug bites but open to anything recommended. They get blood worms and brine shrimp twice a week...

So I now have 7 in my group. The original gang has grown a lot and I've certainly learnt a lot regarding sexing them and can definitely confirm that colouring means NOTHING 😂😂 out of my 2nd lot (the silver coloured ones) they are identical other than the female has a slightly (and I mean...

Roma 125 seal (or any of the romas!)

I swear I've been checking these seals and making sure glass isn't bowing every single evening for 4 months and I have never seen it 🤔

Roma 125 seal (or any of the romas!)

The store that I bought it from just got back to me, they are convinced that I've missed it not that it's come out of no where and that it is just excess sealant. I myself am not fully convinced but they aren't worried at all and neither is Hagen. Ive never really relaxed since the...

Roma 125 seal (or any of the romas!)

Haha no worries! Yes it definitely wasn't there. It was thoroughly inspected apon arrival as I had just had a bad experience with a second hand tank. Thought I'd buy new to play it safe 🙄😂 I have been checking this tank religiously, I think i have bloody ptsd from the old one lol

Roma 125 seal (or any of the romas!)

Anyone has this happen on the trim of their roma? Just noticed it definitely wasn't there a week ago. Sealant is bulging out and over the trim. Waiting for supplier to get back to me. How worried would you be about it??

    Honey gourami

Wow thanks so much for taking the time. Filter is the one that came with the tank, fluval u3 but I've found it a bit crap tbh and have added a sponge filter in place of my airstone. The filter is almost at its capacity in that tank and have been wondering if I should fork out for the next size...

My other yellow one has very rounded fins too, thank god haha. So still outnumbered but hopefully OK for a couple of weeks until I can hunt for more. Won't be asking for advise next time, will just spend a while watching the tank before I choose!

Never found the missing one! Knowing my luck it was probably female too 😂 I did rearrange the tank before I put the new ones in so maybe that's why things are still OK! I'll be keeping a good eye on them for now. My tank is 125l with 6 cories and a green phantom - how many more gourami do you...

The one with the stripe has very rounded fins. They were taken the day I got them, they have changed a little now they are settled. The one with the stripe does like to flirt! I was always under the impression that females could also be more colourful but the girl in the shop was adament 😂 tbh...
