    What's thiS?

I’m pretty sure what you’re seeing there are interopercula odontodes. They vary on how they look from long spines to small spikey extensions that stick out and get caught up when you catch the ancistrus (bristlenose) in a net!

    Can anyone identify this synodontis?

From the large eyes, and the lack of the typical dorsal fin, I am pretty sure this isn't a Synodontis eupterus. Sadly, there are so many hybrids in the trade these days, bred using hormones or manual stripping of eggs/sperm from different species, though it doesn't look like any known hybrid, so...

    African catfish... but which one?

Microglanis sp. - nearly always sold as M. iheringi, but that's a name used for nearly all South American bumblebee cats sold! I won't try to ID it, as with many fish, without a catch location, it would be impossible to confirm. But you can be sure it's a Microglanis sp. and they originate from...

    What Pleco Species Is This?

Always a difficult species to identify without collection location but as has been said, don't like the water too warm, and need a lot of flow with surface movement to get high levels of oxygen. Not meaning to sound negative, but they can also be difficult to get feeding, but have heard good...

    unidentified catfish species

Hi. This isn't a catfish, but what's sold as a 'Algae Eater' - it's actually a species of loach (possibly Gyrinocheilus aymonieri) HTH Martin

Bough this to use in a sump, am not sure if I ever used it or if it's new, but been outside in the garden and so will need a rinse. Moving home, seems a shame to dump it, so if anyone needs it for biological media for a sump/pond filter, please let me know and we can arrange collection...

    Catfish Id

I would agree on the hybrid, maybe Leiarius x Pseudoplatystoma? Snout appears too short for Pseudoplatystoma, but too long for Leiarius. Barbels are not Leiarius either, way too short. Either way it's still got some growing to do! Anyway, for reference, it's definitely not from Vietnam! On the...

    Another Plec Dead,shown In Pics

It probably smells because it looks like it's already starting to decay - must have been dead for at least a few days? I can't even tell what sort of 'plec' it is! But if you've lost more than one of the same species, you should probably try a different supplier. I'd suggest a 50% water change...
