    Shrimps & Snails

There's a good post on here somewhere about fish suitable for nano tanks. I know yours is bigger but MAYBE worth a look as you could possibly put some nice shoals of micro rasboras etc in there?

    Shrimps & Snails

Not sure how active danios are for your 60L? As it looks like your already are, just do research and never impulse buy when your in your LFS no matter how tempting it is!! lol

    Shrimps & Snails

Have a think about RCS or similar, you'll comfortably get a large amount in a 60L with very little bio-load. If your putting other fish in though you probably won't get any young shrimp (RCS are prolific breeders!)  surviving as they will be a tasty snack for most fish! If you put adult RCS in...

    What Is This Fish ?

Good to hear, but if I was you in the future always do a bit of research yourself before buying.   You can usually find enough info in a small amount of time on the internet! Was just commenting as a lot of LFS in my opinion will tell you anything to get a sale!

    What Is This Fish ?

Indeed , but unless it's the only fish in his tank I personally don't think it's a good idea to house a new fish without doing research don't you think?

    My Shrimp Tank

Nice tank, I set one up a few months ago myself and have sakura/cherries in there at the moment which like yours are breeding like mad! Hoping to introduce some CBS soon.

    Leaves In The Aquarium

I put almond leaves in my shrimp tank and occasionally in my larger community tank. They do leach some tannins but nothing significant but I only put in one medium sized leaf at a time. I buy mine from the internet and give them a soak in water before putting them into the tank.

    Mts.

I lost mine to a disease a few months back (not updated my sig, will do shortly) They all seemed fine imo. The disease they had infected other species in the tank so that was nothing to do with the gravel substrate. My gravel is quite small and smooth with no jagged edges. The general opinion...

    Mts.

I think that MTS usually have a population explosion if you over-feed! If this happens you could put some assassin snails in and they would keep the population in check.

Just Picked Up A 40Ltr Tank

Been a couple of months since I posted on this thread, shrimp doing fine and breeding well. Hoping to introduce some CBS in a few weeks time as these won't inter-breed with the CRS.   Here's a few pics.

    Fish Caves

Small terracotta pots can also be used, you can pic these up from 49p from your local garden centre.

    Safe Tank Fertiliser

I regularly dose TNC Lite in my low-tech 40L shrimp only tank and they seem totally unaffected (and breeding like mad)!

Just Picked Up A 40Ltr Tank

Just a little update.   Tank doing ok, lost a couple of shrimp not certain why tbh. Parameters fine and the 2 that died were the larger ones from my 180L tank so it could be just age. Anyway, here's a pic of one with a load of eggs, she was sitting on top of a moss ball fanning the eggs. Several...

Just Picked Up A 40Ltr Tank

Apparently the red cherry are pretty hardy as shrimps go, so that's why I started with them, although regular water changes are req which is no different to keeping any other fish I guess. Red cherry shrimp can  live in a wider range of temperature and PH levels from what I've read. As far as...

Just Picked Up A 40Ltr Tank

Here's another couple of pics, I just started to put some from my larger tank into the shrimp only tank.     If you look there's a tiny shrimp in the foreground.       Not sure which other shrimp I'll put in yet TA. I just hope these guys settle in first! Thanks Greenmumma!
