The scales are doing that in real life. she gets frozen shrimp and some live baby brine shrimp that slips out the babys breeder. I have checked the water and its completly normal. She hasnt been pooping or eating. K i am going to check out that post he was talking about.

I just use RO water because its easier. Then I dont have to worry about what is being taken out of the tap water that is actuly good for the fish. I dont know just a way to be sure its good water i guess. Thanks for the help i got the ammonia lowered and stuff.

I dont use normal tap water i use the reverse osmosis water from the fish store. Just to let you know. I also havent checked in an awhile. The ammonia still is alittle high but no one seems to mind. I bought some of that Ammonia lock or what ever its called and have been use it as directed...

Thanks for the info. I just did a water testing and the nitrite and nitrate both register 0ppm. The Ammonia is testing at 0.50ppm and the PH is reading at 6.0 which is very low or nonexistant. We have not changed the water since we put the ammonia neutralizer in. We have carbon in the filter...

Once i find a fry in my community tank i am usaly fishing around for fry for atleast 3 hours. lol its an intresting job lol. :rolleyes:

Guppies are also known for eating their young. So if you wernt in the room and their in a community tank that may be why. My second to the last batch i only found 4 :(

I dont think adding the gravel with the fish already in there should be a problem just make sure you rinse the gravel with water b4 putting it in. That way all the dust and stuff is rinsed away and not put in your tank. I am glad they got a big tank. i have never seen a smaller tank then a 5...

Yes putting in fish during the cycling proccess is a mistake but go to your local fish store and aqurrie 2 to 3 dannys they are hardy fish and can usaly make it though the cycling process the guy at my fish store told me to leave them in there till the cycling is done then bring the fish back...
