I want some quite detailed books, to keep and read over as this is my first time and my partner has offered to buy some for my birthday. obviously i want some suggestions as i don't want my first pet fish xD or get some cheap rubbish books. is there any really good ones you used or read that can...

I've just ordered a new filter a fluval 1 and atm have my fluval 2 in there way too big for there tank. My question is my fluval 2 was a brand new one as am currently cycling the other tank, when i put this new filter in do i just do water changes to keep the ammonia and nitrate levels down...
The adding ammonia method just looked a bit confusing i'm not too great with numbers so food looked easier lol I'll give the ammonia one a try will get some from boots on Thursday =) Thanks.
Awesome i will do this now then, I've been putting the filter media into the water and trying to get some bacteria into it :( silly filter dying will never buy a stingray again!
So my filter in my tropical tank wouldn't pump so i put a unused and uncycled pump in the tank. Now i'm getting really high readings i need some advice asap :( never had this happen first time.
My Readings for my tank is:
Ph- 7.2
High Ph- 8.8
Nitrite- 0ppm
Ammonia-1.0 ppm
Nitrate- 10-20ppm...
Hello, So have had my tropical tank been sitting in my living room filled with aquatic sand and water. It's been like this for quite a while due to money so i thought i would post a diary to try get this tank rolling along.
Here are the Readings for Week 1:
PH- 7.6
High Ph-7.4
Nitrate-0-5.0ppm...
Wooopsy my bad on the Siamese Flying Fox, didn't realize i put 1.2" that was size they shop was selling them in :) thanks for pointing that out.
I have sand in my tank after reading an article about it, although i do have a little bit of gravel on one side of the tank.
Hello, there i'm just looking for some advice from you all :). I've just bought a new tank and decided to make it a tropical is a 60l tank what works out as 60L tank = 15.8 us Gallions 60 litres = 13.2 Uk gallons, I'm currently doing a fishless cycle for my tank so am in no rush to get my fish...
