    Frogs

My ACF managed to devour 5 neon tetras in the scape of 10minutes. African Clawed Frogs are very much voracious eaters

    my ADFs are SINGING!

I currently have 2 ACF's in my setup. The male of the species has been croaking for weeks now. Its a sign of him reaching sexual maturity and looking for a partner (seen by the darkening of his hands and arms)

    Floating Frogs

how big do the floating frogs get? Can they be mixed with ACFs?

How many ADF in a 10 gallon?

I keep 2 ACF in a 20gallon setup, and there doing just fine

    ACF

My male has darkened patches running from his hands down his arms. Is this a sign that he is just male or that he is now sexually mature aswell? I presume the latter. My female, albino ACF skin is slightly darkened on its back, looking rather blotchy. Can anyone tell me why this has occured? I...

    my african Clawed buddy

There "croaking" is a sign of sexual maturity which they will not reach until they are at least 10months old. An ACF croacks to attract a sexual partner

    ACF

From what I understand they reach sexual maturity after 10 months

    An insight into my tank

The male is about 4 inches (when his body is stretched) while the female is about 2 1/2. The female will eventually surpass the size of the male, growing up to 8 inches. The pictures are about 2months old hence the smaller sizes of the pair. With the right conditions though they can live up to...

Any own or know much about....

Black Emperor Tetras They were recently introduced in my LFS for a limited time. I was wondering whether anyone has owned the species? Are they rare? Do they have the same characteristics of your regular Emperor Tetras... Perhaps there are other species in your LFS which you are wondering about?

    Any good snail eating fish?

Puffers are excellent at eradicating snails, but they are not particularly a community species. Zebra loaches may be an alternative. I have also heared khuli loaches are excellent snail destroyers!

    missing in action

Whether my opinion is "out of order" or not is up to the moderators to decide and past judgement, not yourself. I believe I was simply being realistic with what you say is having very limited time to look after the tank. It's a harsh reality, but if all avenues have been exploited, your only...

    ACF

I've fed my albino clawed frogs on tetras productivly. More then anything the fish stumble across the frog and they pounce. ACF are very messy eaters (so regular water changes are demanded) while you may not know this, but there is reports of the species living up to 20yrs in captivity. After...

    missing in action

witch-hunting again... I was making the point that if all avenues have been exhausted for you to continue looking after the tank sufficiently, then ultimately you may have to look into more drastic, harsher methods. Of course though re-assessing your stock levels, introducing more plants and...
