    Shinli's Aquarium Madness

Thank you all for the awesome comments :D. @verminator: I think rummy nosed tetra's are awesome as well, although I've never owned other tetra's though. There behavior is definitely interesting. Sadly today I found a sick rummy nose, her eyes are popping out so I put that one in a quarantine...

    Green Spots On My Plant

I've had these problems in the past as well, and it's definitely a nutrient/co2 problem. I also only had the problem with the sword plants, other plants didn't really seem affected (I only saw they didn't grow as fast as they could, but they didn't die) If you've planted it quite recently the...

    Shinli's Aquarium Madness

Thanks mark :D Owh yeh, and apart from aquarium madness, we (or well I) also have some pet madness going on. All the pets, apart from the 2 cats we have, are all my pets. My parents are obviously 'very' happy with me at times with all these pets XD. Our cat Terry: The other cat Blacky: My...

Nice little tank, also not a big fan of such decorations, but as long as you like it, it's all good :D. I do agree with verminator on that plant in the back. I'd really remove it if I were you because I've never seen that in aquariums before and don't think it's a waterplant. Also the other...

    New From Holland

No I'm not on a duikforum. I don't dive :P. I only swim in the Ijsselmeer or the Northsea XD, or with my hands in my aquariums. Hopefully people are able to help you here if you can't figure it out, sadly I don't know much about saltwater fish, corals and all that.

    Shinli's Aquarium Madness

Thanks :D. The photo's are made with my Nikon D-60, and some with my normal digital camera. And the LDA-033 is actually made with my iphone XD.

    Shinli's Aquarium Madness

Thank you guys ^^. Yeh I'm quite satisfied with the current setup of the vision 260. And the plants are growing really well (had some real problems with plant growth last year). I'm planning to buy a professional co-2 system when my next pay-check comes in :D. So then they will grow even better...

    Shinli's Aquarium Madness

Why hai there fellow aquarium lovers! I'd like to share my tank madness with you all. I shall give a bit of history on my tanks, and hopefully will share my future upcoming tanks as well. First of all I'll start with my Vision 260 Community Tank. Which is located in our living room. I bought...

    New Tank

A Betta can grow to the size of 7cm. How big would a 28L be? 20cm in width? Maybe 30? It could barely swim two times and it would find itself at the other side already. A fish isn't much different to keeping a cat or a dog or any other type of animal. If you want a pet, you have to give it the...

    New Tank

I think a 26L.... thingy is way too small for a betta, it's way too small for most fish, maybe you can put some shrimp in the tank? Especially if you want it heavily planten, there's no room for the fish to swim! You also have to take the dimensions of the tank into account. And especially if...

What Tank Mates Do You Have?

I have two male betta's in two seperate tank. One, the older betta male is in my 260L community tank. Together with 24 rummy-nosed tetras, 11 corydoras sterbai, 6 Carnegiella strigata (don't know the english name), LDA-033 and some apple-snails. I've never had much trouble. Daniel (that's his...

    Mature Media (Starting Over)

There's really no way to speed up the process. People make you believe it's possible if you throw all sorts of stuff from bottles in your aquarium. But the best way is patience and waiting about 3 weeks for most bacteria colonies to grow in your filter and aquarium water. You can help it a bit...

Can Fish Catch Disease From Live Plants Bought Online?

I think there are a few parasites/bacteria that can be transferred via plants. But generally those are nasty illnesses fish could get, and they aren't very common. I think it's always safe to get plants who haven't been in others tanks just to be on the safe side.

    Water Safe For Plants?

I don't think it can do any harm. It might fertilize it a bit extra maybe XD. Just watch out if you throw water over your veggies if you used medication, maybe you might want to flush it down the toilet then. But I'm not sure if water treatment stuff would have any effect. Maybe to be safe only...

    Driftwood Centerpiece

Boiling wood isn't the best way to go. If you boil wood the wood structure gets messed up, so it might go softer more quickly in the tank. And instead of years on end you could use it, you might have to take it out after a year or so. I generally just clean the wood with warm/boiling water and...
