    Unusual Algae...

Any suggestions on how to get rid of it? I pulled the plant parts that had it on there, but the stationary objects are being difficult. It's growing on the tube to my filter a bit, and I tried scrubbing it off with very little success. It's stuck on there pretty well. My pleco won't eat it. Is...

    Cherry Barb In Trouble

It's highly likely the other barbs did it. Barbs are notorious fin-nippers. They can't be in any tank with long-finned fish for that exact reason. They don't typically go after their own, but back when I had them, they did occasionally do so.

    Unusual Algae...

I was away at school, and my parents aren't big on helping with my tank outside of feeding the fish. I got home this week and my tank has been overrun by this thick dark hair-like algae on everything! My algae eater won't touch it, and it's growing off of everything in the tank. Any suggestions...

Can I Put These Fish In A Tank Together?

There's 2 clown loaches and a few barbs. It's a 10 gallon. It's not exactly a large tank, and I don't want to overpopulate it... I don't think adding a couple more fish would overpopulate it though. The lady at the fish store said barbs don't get along with other fish sometimes though, depending...

Can I Put These Fish In A Tank Together?

I have a large tank with rosy barbs in it, and my mom has a tiny tank with some velvet wag swords, and the swords had some babies. They fit in there now, but they will end up outgrowing the tank and I don't know if these two types of fish can peacefully coexist or if the barbs will bully the...

I don't have community tanks. Just the 1 fish and maybe a very small algae eater to keep the algae levels low

    Looking for opinions

My tank was recently taken over by velvet, and being somewhat of a beginner, I ended up not realizin it until it was too late. Now that i have no fish, I'm starting over. I'm working on getting my tank up and running again, and i'm thinking i want rosy barbs. My tank is a 10 gallon tank. Can...

    Mysterious Deaths

Alright...I'm gonna try to answer all of these at once, lol... I don't have the kits, so I'll have to take it in to the store. I'm friends with the lady who owns it, so she'll do it for free. The bala shark died... :-( He was my favorite... The packaging says nothing about side effects To...

    Mysterious Deaths

    1. H2o Parameters- Ammonia is 0, pH is neutral, and the temp is about 75 degrees F. 2. Symptoms- About 2 weeks ago, i found my black fin shark bobbing around at the bottom of the tank, with his stress coat peeling off, completely dead. I did some tests and found the pH to be a little low, so...

    Sexing Tiger Barbs

I dunno...Maybe he's just a little chubby...He's actually kind of a runt compared to the rest. I got them all at the same time, but he's always been smaller. It's caused me troubles breeding before too...I had to get a new male to breed with because this one I guess wasn't good enough for my...

    Sexing Tiger Barbs

Same thing...they get fat before they do their little breeding/egglaying thing.

    Sexing Tiger Barbs

Ok...well...if it's male, then that leads me to question #2: Why is my fish gigantically fat? If it were female, I'd say she was preganant, but male, it's have to be something else. And I can't figure out what...none of my other fish look like this.

    Friendly Fish Syndrome, GAH!

I conditioned my fish so that when I turn the tank light on in the morning, they know it's time to eat. As soon as I turn on the light, they some to the top and I feed them and then they do their own thing for the rest of the day because they know that's it for the day.
