Theres a small green/yellow catapiller in my fish tank. Im currently doing a fish-less cycle. I do have planets in the tank. Should i take it out?

I bought some planets from my LFS then the next day i found some snails in the tank. Are the snails good for the tank, i would like to keep mine. Could someone give me some information about them please.

My tanks been set up for 1wk now. Two days ago i put some fish food in there, only a tiny bit. I done my first test today. These are the results

Nitrite - 5.0
I bought some ammonia today to do a fish-less cycle. Could anyone advise me what to do now e.g start the fish-less cycle...
Ive bought some ammonia to do a fish-less cycle. Its homebases own brand its called 'Household Ammonia'. It says it contains only ammonia solution 9.5%. Is that ok.

Im new this, i currently doing a fish-less cycle. My wife bought me a plant to go in the tank. She didnt know what it was called. So i check this site and found it was called Micranthemum umbrosum
Can anyone give me some information about the planet please e.g is it a good starter plant...
It isnt a filtered pond. So should i just do a fish-less cycle like on this page
