Are All Corydoras From South America?

I keep a shoal of Sidthimunkis with my Corys, they are very active and i think very good looking fish to boot. Highly recommended! Oh and they do a good job of keeping the snails at bay as well.

Not Quite Sure What These Guys Are...

Took and hour or so of sitting and waiting for these guys to stay put long enough for me to grab a picture. Here's a better one: Picture # 3 And I have been scouring through my books and the web, seems there's a few candidates, i'll keep checking though.

Not Quite Sure What These Guys Are...

Hey guys long time no see. I recently bought a group of Corys that were labeled as "Wild Caught Trillineatus". At first glance they just seemed to be a bit pale from the lighting and the trip to the LFS. I picked them up and brought them home and introduced them to my other group. However after...

    My Tank Sump Plans.

LOL yeah sorry, typing while watching TV and a fish tank is a bad combination!

    My Tank Sump Plans.

That's called vallisneria spiralis. A pretty hardy fairly fast growing plant. The sump i am using is actually setup with baffles to support a substrate bed and the inlet is positioned to make sure that an excessive amount of current stirs up and moves away the substrate. I would not run a...

    Chrs's Tank Journal

I had flashbacks of my own old 20 tall when i saw your pictures. My first tank was the same and oddly enough it had 4 Corydoras Paleatus in it just like yours. THough instead of a Betta I had Platys.

    My Tank Sump Plans.

i'm running a refugium/sump on my tank but i always intended too. For the CO2 I am stickign with dosing Flourish Excel at the moment as I am unsure what effect the cascading water (my tank has a built in overflow) will have on any possible CO2 injection. In my sump I am using a nice sized mass...

    Corydoras And Y. Sidthimunkis

I was reading Practical Fishkeeping and they had an article on Dwarf Chain Loaches (Y. Sidthimunki) and noted that they are not recommended to be kept with Corydoras Catfish. Since I have actually had these neat little loaches with my various Corydoras for a while now, I thought i'd share my...

    Feeding Schedule?

I feed twice a day, once right when the lights go on, and again right before the lights go off. Usually Hikari Sinking wafers and whatever Tetra Pellets they can steal from the neons and sidthimunkis. They fast on fridays and mondays, and saturday everyone gets a treat of some bloodworms. Giving...

    New Home For My Corys

Just added more pictures to my FLickr. Seems the Paleatus are making themselves at home laying eggs all over the tank! Water is still a bit cloudy, but parameters are all coming down to acceptable levels. Almost time for the Trillineatus to migrate over and meet their Paleatus and Adolfoi friends.
