Well, all it took was a 30% water change, a bubble wand to airstone downgrade, and a little gravel vacuum, and back to normal. Stats were normal, too! Yay!

It's an 8 gallon with a zbera danio, fancy guppy, sunset coral platy, oto and temporarily a male betta & an ADF until they get homes. (next week.)

I cycled it by putting it all together and letting it filter for a week. I tested it using a test strip I got from an aquatic store. I kept letting it filter until, 7 weeks later, all the readings said "Safe" (It was color coded). After I put the fish in, some things changed, but nothing big...

Well, I just got done with the cycling this week, so is it safe to change the water? I sure hope my air is okay! I breathe it, too! Haha. I'll change it as soon as I have a change! Thanks!

Right now I'm considering a zebra danio, a sunset coral platy, and a fancy guppy. Any other suggestions for a smaller breed of fish? Besides most tetras, that need schools. The help would be much appreciated! Thanks! (8 gallons, by the way!)

Well, here is my recent set up for my Betta. I had him in a filtered & heated 2.5 gal for a few weeks while I waited for my 5 gal to cycle. It's finally done! It's heavily planted, and the filter is turned down low. Let me show you my initial costs: 5 gal tank kit: $33.99 Mini heater: $11.49...

I just wanted to let everyone know that once I added me filter, my Betta has been even more active, and playful then before. And before he was REALLY playful. Now it's like the dang fish needs ridolin! Haha. Thanks for all your help! P.S. The minnows are gone. It's just the Betta and the frog...

Betta's also don't like minnows that much. I got some white cloud ones. Teeny tiny. Within a week, they all were missing heads. Haha. Yikes!

I just wanted to hear from everyone else who owns a Betta who it he/she gets along with? In my tank I have an African Dwarf Frog and an Otocinclus. So far so good! Have you tried any tankmates with your Betta that didn't work out? RIP my beloved white cloud minnows. Haha. Let's hear it!

Well, if I decide to get the otocinclus then I will give the minnows to my niece. She loves them and squeals when they swim around fast. Then should I have enough room?

Okay, thanks! I will. They get along with Bettas, right? I think I heard that they tend to. My Betta isn't very aggressive at all.

I'll consider it. I think they are somewhat expensive, aren't they? I'll check it out. Any other advice?
