Nope, my tank was totally Med free. I don't know why or how, but for us, it definitely helped. Its the only thing I changed or added, and the effects were immediate.

I just bought minced Garlic in the Jar at the store and tossed a few kernels in the water. (Probably will be frowned upon here... ) anyway, It really helped with our Ick.

ok... I have nowhere else to put that snail. :unsure: ugh. in my past experience the white spots never totally leave the fish, they just re-appear in different spots. Is it a waste of time to try to treat the ich while the spots are present?

So is it safe to salt my tank, add meds and raise the temp with that snail in there?

Its the only healthy fish I have. Through all this it has never once gotten a white spot, and really doesn't care what I do to it. I have a feeling that the others will go to the great pond in the sky, and he may be the only one I can keep alive. :rolleyes:

I don't have a test kit, my store will test for free, but I just discovered the ich in my 10 gal tank this morning, and haven't had a chance to have it tested yet. I had been using ich guard plus, but since I redid my tank I haven't used any meds. I wasn't sure if it was safe with that snail in...

Can it survive bleach? I bleached everything, including the fiber in the filter. How frustrating.

nice. :huh: I will start snail extraction when my son is at school. Can someone point me to a place where I can ID the kind I have and learn about their life cycles and all that? I kinda want to learn what I am dealing with.
