    Fish Tb

    Help Needed To Diagnose Parasite

Sorry, I can't post a picture. the owner of the local fish store kept the fish when I took it in today and put it in a hospital tank - but he said he doubts it will recover. The body was very bloated, and seemed to be especially swollen around the vent. Scales were flat, not raised or...

    Help Needed To Diagnose Parasite

Hello, I am hoping for some help diagnosing an internal parasite. One of my serpae tetras has been very inactive for a couple of weeks. She has become bloated too (scales flat not raised, so i do not think it is dropsy). I thought she might be pregnant but yesterday I noticed a thin white...

    Glass Cathfish And Serpae Tetras?

Hi, The Thai government imposes a very high tax on imports of almost all goods and has extra restriction on bringing in live fish. Also, the glass catfish originates from Thailand, so very unlikely that they would import one from Africa...especially when they cost only one dollar per fish! Cheers

    Glass Cathfish And Serpae Tetras?

Hello, I have a 130 litres (40 gallon) tank with live plants, driftwood etc. I have 11 harlequin rasboras, 3 albino corys and four serpae tetras. I was thinking about adding some glass catfish. I read that they are very timid...does anyone think the serpae tetras would be too busy or aggressive...

    Advice About Bacterial Bloom?

Thanks for the commiserations - I was also very shocked when I came home and found all the fish dead (there was no sign of any of them). I guess some people are just extremely irresponsible. and perhaps will be reincarnated as fish in their next lives.

Hello, I am hoping to get some advice…I live in Bangkok, and I recently went home to Australia for three weeks. Hello, I have a 30 gallon tank with a couple of otos, four cory's, two halfbeaks and some neon tetras. After vaccuming my gravel today I found about a dozen small brown worms in the bottom of the bucket. They were flat in shape, about 0.4 centimetres long. Does anyone know what they are? Are...

What To Do About Bacterial Bloom

Hello, I have been running a 30 gallon tank for about six months and earlier this week it had a very bad bacterial bloom. There were two causes: 1) I was way too overzealous in cleaning - gravel vac, scrubbed some rocks, and replaced half the filter media, at the same time as doing my regular...

Hello, I've accidentally created a big bacterial bloom in my tank - last night I saw some black algae and gave the tank a too thorough cleansing - 30 per cent water change, scrubbed fake plants, good vaccum of the gravel and replaced half of the filter media. It looks like my cleaning frenzy...
