Just seen this thread - what did you end up doing with the terrors? I really really want once but only have a 145 litre tank and so am after an acara. If you kept the terrors, how big have they got?

Just the one blue acara, or could a 145 litre tank cope with 2? There would be no other tankmates except perhaps some corys further down the line.

Your nitrite should be 0. I had exactly the same problem and went out and bought an air pump, but it turned out to be a nitrite spike and I came so close to losing them all. Keep testing your water and performing water changes if there is nitrite present. Good luck!

This is brilliant - thank you so much! An update to my tank is that I now have nothing, so can start completely from afresh without worrying about the gouramis, corys and pleco (who have all gone to a good home). I shall browse your recommendations with a beer tonight!
