    New Betta, New Aquarium

Buying a new aquarium is always the best solution to everything! ;) They are very pretty boys! Bettas probably have to be my favorite species :)

    Baby Betta!

    Nevermind, she died this morning

    Baby Betta!

The bubble coming out of her butt seems to have shrunk a little bit, but she still won't eat or swim much.. I just put the TINIEST pinch of aquarium salt in her cup...literally about 8 or 10 little granules..I will start changing her water twice a day and will keep adding the salt unless...

    Baby Betta!

Hey everyone! So I have been rescuing and raising baby bettas. Well, I have had one in particular for maybe a week and a half or two weeks now and she has been doing great and growing well (she had been very skinny and lethargic and pale with a crooked spine when I got her, but she has been...

    Rcs And A Bowl

Thank you so much! Are there any plants (aquatic or semi-aquatic) that you would put in it to make it look better?

    Rcs And A Bowl

This is what the bowl looks like (well, what it looked like a few months ago...the plants have grown out a lot since) I'm thinking about doing some semi-aquatic plants in here... Think that would be fun and kinda neat...maybe something like mondo grass? Any suggestions to make the bowl...

    Rcs And A Bowl

That sounds like a plan! Thanks for all your help! I'm sure all the plants will help in keeping the water clean, too..they did for the betta that was in there

    Rcs And A Bowl

She said I can do it :) my only concern is how would I clean it? I wouldn't want to suck up a bunch of live fairy shrimp

    Rcs And A Bowl

That's a great idea, thank you! Hopefully my mom would go for it! I think that my baby bettas would appreciate some live food over frozens :)

    Rcs And A Bowl

I like the fairy shrimp idea....could I feed them to my baby bettas? There is a place for hiding in the bowl (small piece of wood, many plants) and it is up against a wall, but I still see what you mean...there are lots of fast growing stem plants (which help with ammonia), but I still don't...

    Rcs And A Bowl

I do still have that tank, but a few disasters later and it looks different now...plus, I wouldn't put them in there, I have bettas in there.. Can you think of anything I could do with this bowl then?

    Rcs And A Bowl

Yes it does make sense..thank you! Is it possible with a lot of care? Or just no? And if not, is there anything you can think of that I could put in there?

    Rcs And A Bowl

Hey everybody! I have a decently heavily planted almost 2 gallon bowl...it stays at a constant 72 degrees usually...never goes under that..I have seen people keep shrimp in NPT bowls before. Would keeping some red cherry shrimp in here be a possibility? Thanks! Meg

    Thinking About Getting Bettas

78 to about 82 degrees is optimum temp...IME, my bettas tend to like it more around 80-82 degrees...so if you have an adjustable heater, there's no harm in upping it to 80-82 Solid divider...otherwise they will stress each other out. Or you could get a semi transparent divider and just block...
