I just got in from work and have noticed that the heater light was on. When I checked it the glass has cracked. One of the suckers had slipped and the heater was sitting on the substrate. I had kept the heater box and the packaging said that the light comes on when it's heating the device...
Thanks guys. I've put the plant in now and it looks great. Didn't realise it had suckers on it until I put it in the tank. Would be good if all plastics plants had them. That way you wouldn't have to rearrange everything when doing a gravel vac etc
I just bought a plastic plant for my tank but when I got it home I realise that the packet has got lizards all over it. The wording on the back reads: “The plants can be used in conjunction with real plants in dry or hot areas of the terrarium.” The brand name is Exo-Terra Jungle Plant and the...
To work colleagues: whilst in the kitchen waiting for the toast to pop or kettle to boil, don’t fill silences with talk about the weather i.e. “I heard it might rain tomorrow.”
Yes. We live in England. It probably will
I just had a look at some cardinal tetras and I love them! The only thing I was wondering is how important is the pH? On one site it read that the pH should be between 4.0 and 6.8. My water is a constant 7.6
Thanks guys. I think I'll give it few months to see how I get on. Then probably wait til after Christmas as I'm sure ebay will have loads of unwanted tanks in the New Year. I'm sure to get a bargain! :D
When I first thought about getting a tank I thought yep I’ll get a small tank add a few fish and away we go. Well after being on this site and learning so much I realise that I wish I had thought about it properly and gotten a bigger tank. There are so many fish that I’d like but can’t have...
All evening the fish have been hiding behind the plants etc and just as I’m getting ready for bed, I turned the light off on the aquarium and suddenly they’ve come to life! A bit annoying really seeing as the whole point of a fish tank is to see your fish swimming!
However, is it possible they...
Hand painted stones
My son painted a large stone at nursery the other day and he wants to put it in the tank so I was wondering it if would be ok if I varnished it first? If not I won’t use it, I just thought I’d ask before we have unhappy fish
I would recommend a Rottweiler. My friend had a Golden Retriever and a Rottweiler and they lived harmoniously together for 8 years until sadly the rottie got ill
I know some people are put off by Rottweilers but to me they are the best dog to have. If I had a bigger place I would get...
I have a 48litre tank and I’m going to be getting some Black Widow Tetras and Zebra Danios. I’d like a Betta but not sure if they are compatible??
Ideally I’d like something really colourful. Any ideas?
I'm completely new to fish keeping and just yesterday I got four Gold Dust Mollys. This morning I wake up to find there are now eight in the tank and I don't know what to do. Do I need to do anything to protect the babies? Am I to expect any more? I'm really concerned as I don't want to anything...
