yeah that was the idea, but didnt know if i should add t5' to the exsisting t8's or another pair of t8's. think ill go with another pair of t8's. Im unsure of moonlight aswell. would a moonlight tube work in my current ballast?

Hi all. i have gone and upgraded my tank from a 4ft to a 6ft one i got on ebay for £30 :good: At the moment i am using 2x 42" 38w tubes. I will have to make a hood for the tank (as well as cabinet) so wish to use these tubes or just the ballast. the trouble is with my old tank there was plenty...

A grand! I just bought a 6ft one on ebay for £31! bargain. came with metal stand. jus got to make a lid and frame the stand.

ahh thats good to hear, save me spending more money. It should be ok as they will be in the sump so if they do breal then they shouldnt end up in the tank :good:

ah right, i can use tiles but probably not bathroom ones. im just thinking of dividers for a sump. i dont have much money and there was a box of unused ones in the shed. oh well

Are the tiles you use for bathrooms and kitchens safe to go in a fish tank. one side is glazed but im not sure if the other side would be ok... :blink:

I know, the 11inch pleco could hardly move anywhere but they are all fine now with what must feel like a mansion to them :rolleyes:

Tap nitrate looks like 12.5mg/l I done a water change and the tank water is reading about 12.5 too
