Hi Guys/Gals,
Quick question I have a Red Sea Max 250 Reef tank that I am dismantling and was thinking of converting this to a tropical planted aquarium. At the moment this tank has 6 x 39w t5 tubes, If I was to replace these with arcadia plant pro would I need a full 6 tubes? 234w seems...
Hi Ferris,
Thanks for the reply, I checked the water this morning after I noticed the problem and the results are as they should be - zeros across the board, Ph 7.6 and the nitrate 5.0 ppm
Having another look now the eye does indeed look swollen. I'm surprised I didnt pick that up on first...
Hello all,
Not sure if i need to be overly worried here or not here but I noticed today that my male demasoni has a cloudy eye. He is very territorial with the other fish but normally just chases them away from his patch rather than a full on fight so I'm guessing he has knocked his eye...
Me personally no. I read a few references that if you raise the eggs to fry and so fourth by yourself that when they then come to breed they loose the maternal instinct that they would of gained from their parents so I'd like the mated pair to raise them initially with me as the food...
Morning,
My pair of Angels which I have had for almost 2 years have been living quite happily with Cardinal tetra's and a snowball Plec in their 30g without any problems and lay eggs every fortnight. Unfortunately they do like to gobble them up after a few days but I did come close once with...
Congrats Julia,
Tis the season for new bundles of joy. Hope you have space for all these fry? My seven Labidochromis sp – “Hongi” are growing at a rapid rate. Almost had some demasoni fry last week but just as I was about to move the female to a seperate tank she spat them and everyone else...
Hi Mark,
I believe the first one is a Labidochromis caeruleus (Male), second looks like a Pseudotropheus demasoni (Female), looks stressed which is why the colours are so weak, as the colour should be dark blue and light blue bars: I have this fish and her colours change when I move the tank...
Hi Guys,
After a bit of advice please: My (Labidochromis sp) – “Hongi” gave birth to 7 fry (first attempt) about two weeks ago (I didn’t even know she was holding so a bit of a surprise). Infact she was currently recuperating in my community tank (I didn’t have anywhere else at the time)...
Oh la la - Well its certainly a good excuse to setup more tanks...am not sure the floor can take the weight though. How many babies are we talking here?
Your right, I'll sit down tonight and surf the net and keep an eye out for puffy cheeks?
Jive
Hi Guys,
I haven’t been on here for some time as everything has been fine in the Malawi tank but just recently a few of the inhabitants have been acting a little oddly. First I did a mammoth water change when I came back from China in December (about 65%) and my yellow labs started to chase...
