Been chilly out here. And realised that I had unplugged my heater during a water change so as not to kill myself and then forgot to turn it on again. Doh!!!!!!
I'm sure I could see my 2 boys shivering............
They've survived though so I reckon these pair of platies will make...
Thanks
Ammonia still borderline and no nitrites and definitely down to 2 fish.
Will keep going and let you know when we have progress. I think I know the answer but should I be changing the filter? The instructions in the Biorb says do it every month.....
Claire
Still no sign.....
It's only a 30l Biorb so there isn't loads of places to hide and I'm doing water changes daily to get it going. Good idea about looking up though. Not that he's there.......
Thanks
Claire
You see I know there were 3 fish last night.... I did a water change, used a siphon so he's not got scooped out and I'm failrly certain there were 3 when I fed them last night.
Tonight...... one of the boys has completely disappeared without trace. I've moved everything, jiggled the stones...
Done a 30% change tonight. Ammonia was just 0.25ppm and still no nitrates. Am I doing something wrong or do I just need to be patient?
Fish look good though - they're coming to say hello now and the little one is growing.
Claire
Scores on the doors tonight
Ammonia 0.25ppm
Nitrite 0ppm
I'm assuming we have no nitrate yet - is that right?
Done a 20% change.
Fisk look OK
Claire
Hi all,
Great idea about a new topic - I can bore you all witless
Tonight's readings are
pH 8.4
Ammonia 0.5ppm
Nitrite 0ppm
Nitrate 0ppm
I'm going to do a water change. How much do you reckon?
Claire
Well guys got an API test kit - completely ripped off but hey.....
The scores on the doors tonight were
Ammonia 0.25ppm
Nitrite 0ppm
Nitrate 0ppm
pH 7.8
The boys (yes we managed to get all 3 males) seem happy enough tonight.
Do I need to do anything tonight?
Shall I test it again...
