well the part that sticks down below the syphon you push down into the sand and move it through the sand and as you move most of the dirt rises up out of the sand and gets sucked up through the syphon and you don't even have to go near the sand with the syphon and so none gets sucked up

well thats good that ye all think its good idea, as i said i've found it works really well it just takes a bit of trial and error at the start to get it sticking down the right amount at the start so as just to suck up dirt and not sand, i should patent this or something and start selling it to...

i recently changed to sand and i was finding it hard to clean the sand so i came up with the idea of using tie wraps to hold an orange peeler which is what i used onto a standard syphon so that it sticks down below the syphon and that way you can just sift through the sand and all the dirt rises...

no it doesn't really look like dried blood and it doesn't look like the tail is stuck together with mucas or slime, i mean he looks fine except for the fact the tail is just folded over and he's just swimming in the one spot on the top of the tank, he seems to be starting to struggle now as well...
