    Parasites? Help

Thank you wilder - no they are not old fish at all. I will be treating them, unfortunately I do not have any more mature filter material. I will have to be prepared to go through a mini cycle. fish in and do some daily changes again. Good grief. I am gutted.

    Parasites? Help

My Dwarf gourami, two corydoras have died. My female gourami has an ulcer won't be around much longer though is still feeding. I have only been able to get Interpet Anti-Internal Bacteria at the moment. I haven't seen any worms but who knows.....I am shooting in the dark here. Water stats are...

Confused- Tap Water Testing 0.25 Ammonia?

Yes it could be in your water - however your filter bacteria should process that fairly quickly. I would only do the necessary water changes - maybe more frequent smaller changes rather than big changes?

    New 6 Gallon Tank

I am not sure if you can move the filter from the 6g over to the 10g? What type of filter is it? You can make shift a hood out of something maybe...any pics maybe? Upload onto a host website and then paste in the URL into your reply.

    Assassins Breed Quick!

I added 3 assissin snails to my tank l1 days ago and they have beautifully cleared the tank of pests. This morning the cutest little baby assassin was sitting on the gravel sleeping this morning. Already :hyper: All this and the tank is undergoing white spot treatment - they must be tough...

    White Spot In New Tank

Thank Fish fanatic - all changed and fish are happy. I have slowly upped the temp to 29 but I think that is as high as my cories will tolerate. I guess tomorrow will tell  I still have another platy in another isolation because he was being aggressive and had a larger eye that look...

    White Spot In New Tank

Well today the tank is due for another dose - the white spots spread yesterday to more on the platy tails. However - today many spots have dropped off so I am doing a 50% Water change today and re-dosing the tank. Hopefully this means the new dose will kill the spores that have dropped off?

    New 6 Gallon Tank

Sorry but Platies are too big and active for a 6 gallon! I made exactly the same mistake for a while but have now moved the platies into a 90l tank. The difference in their behaviour is incredible. They actually grow quite large and are very active swimmers that need space. Please do not put...

Yeah I used this when I did my fishless cycle. It still took 7 weeks to cycle AND I had to seed with mature media. Goodluck!

    Freshwater Clams...

No it is pond in the UK...temperatures vary considerably but as these are freshwater clams I assumed they could survive 'outdoor' temperature :/

Every Day Or Every Other Day?

I could be wrong - but I suspect the rise in ammonia is down to the fact that the fish you have are too big for the tank. Keep feeding every other day in order to keep the waste products down. I am sure someone more experienced will help soon.

    Freshwater Clams...

I made a very big mistake and about 6 months ago purchased some freshwater clams for my tropical tank. However...I have since realised that this is not a suitable home for the clams. They are still alive - I tend to put a bit of liquify in the water every now and them for them to filter out and...
