It could be a fraction over 0, but it was definatly below 5 on the colour chart canarsie11: just a standard nitrate test kit from the LFS, similar process to testing pH but with two diferent chemicals, and a bit more time involved

The female molly i had in my hospital tank for birthing did something similar, she got caught under an artifical hollow log, she had never tried to go there before, but one weekend while i was out she did, and i didnt get home till it was too late :sad:

I have a couple more queries :) Firstly regarding filters, does the effect stack? On my 43gallon tank (thanks to the people who worked it out) I have a millenium 1000 and an aquaclear 150, both are recommended for 30gal tanks, am I getting enough filtration? I will be picking up a nitrate...

d'oh, those are the outside measurments, the inside ones shouldnt be more then 1/2 an inch less
