I'll try to figure that out when I get home from work tonight. Thanks for your help though! I got a good commission check at work this month so I'll probably just give it a shot and buy these expensive light bulbs and be sure to post the results on here :hyper:

Hey there! I was thinking of ordering these 2watt LED lights. They are a direct swap for the stock halogen lights. I have seen them used in another forum and they make the tank look amazing! Will these be okay for my plants? I will just be using Java Fern, Anibius, and Java moss. Thanks!

So I have finally figured out what I want to do with my Fluval Edge. Shrimp tank it is! So my questions are: +What would be a good stocking for this 6g tank? I was thinking about ordering some cherry shrimp and hang onto my glass shrimp that I have in the tank right now. Any other...

Thanks for all the input everyone! I'm just going to keep my Danios and glass shrimp until I figure out what I want to do with it since they are all doing great. I'm going to start doing some research of shrimp tanks.

The space is big enough that a Betta could find it right? Would a highly planted tank help with the oxygen problem? I did a search and found a couple photos of people with a Betta in the same tank. I know the instruction manual lists a Betta as one of it's recommended fish?

It's just the stock one that comes with the tank. It has an adjustable flow which slows down the water quite a bit I was going to some foam to put around the inlet tube as well to slow it down even more.

Hey all! Just wondering if a betta would be okay in a fluval edge tank. From what I read they need to breathe from the surface. However, the edge only has a small 4x4" access to air. Since the water fills all the way to the top. Just seeking your advice before I think about doing a betta tank...

The tank comes with basically everything you need. Stand, filter, lights, and of course...the tank :-). The tank was a gift from the girlfriend I think she paid $129. The cord for the lights and the filter are all enclosed in the back part of the stand so there is no untidy cables anywhere...

Some pictures after I redid the tank last night. No more non aquatic plants from petsmart! I like the simple design a bit better. I plan on tying one small Java fern to the top of the wood on the left and let it be...or well, until I get bored with it again :shifty: Any comments, advice, etc...

I just pulled out the non aquatic plants tonight and made a bouquet out of them. The two plants attached to the driftwood are aquatic and so are three other little ones. I rearranged the tank and it still looks pretty cool. I'm never buying plants from pet super stores like Petsmart again :blush:

Cool forum!! I wish this was around when I use to be into the hobby. Would have saved me a lot of headaches. Here is a recent picture of my fluval edge. I have three danios and a ghost shrimp for now. Might do a male guppy or betta tank once it has been running a bit longer. Hope you like it!

Hello there! I was browsing around at LED lights at the local electronics super store and came across these: They are the same size and same 12v that my fluval edge uses. I figured this would be a great idea for the tank because LED's are going to run much cooler and limit the temperature...
