OK, I have located them both..... brown and crispy!!! One was under the tank stand, the other must have flopped aroung quite a bit 'cos it was under a book case aroung 10 ft away. Strange that they both dissapeared in the same 24 hr period.... telepathic suicide pact - had to be!

I have 2 algae eaters in a 20 gallon tank, 2 weeks ago I moved 1 into a 10 gallon tank to see if it would help with a snail problem. Within 24 hours of the move I was unable to find either of them! I have checked the ornaments, plants and filters to no avail. I even did a complete water change...

I would be glad to, but I don't know whether I could get them through customs :lol: It is a long way from Phoenix to the UK!!! Thanks for all the info guys.... I have plenty of options to look at. But first, the fish are on a diet so that there is no surplus food in the tank :cool:

I had thought about relocating the snails to a local pond, but I am unsure whether that is an irresponsible reaction? Will the snails proove to be a pest in the local environment? I even thought about chucking them down the waste disposal.... but I think I would feel a little guilty about that...

My hood top lamp is a 15w flourescent strip. Is this sufficient?

I am just using the flourescent lighting in the tank hood. I haven't added any fertilizer... what would you suggest? I was thinking of making the ground cover a sandy one to encourage natural behaviour from a couple of my cories.

I have a 10 gallon tank that has a couple of plants in it.... see pic The plant on the left is losing all of its leaves.... almost. What is being left behind looks like skeletal leaves. What can I do to stop this? PS this is an old pic, the water level has been topped up :D
