Consider trying "Prime" by Seachem. It's great stuff... breaks down chorine/chloramine in tap water and neutralizes ammonia, nitrates and nitrites. Add it to your new water when doing water changes. Good to have on hand during an ammonia emergency while cycling a tank. It smells kind weird...
