status update: last week, i moved both female swordtails into the hospital tank. the hospital tank is a 10gal tank, filter used a piece of the media from the main tank, water is half main tank half new water. (on a side note, while changing the water from the main tank, i opened up the filter...

it still have the two spots on the tail, but there is still no rubbing or flicking. during the day, it doesn't do anything strange. during the night, after the lights are off, it would stay in the corner behind the pipe that goes to the filter. i think it recently gave birth. its bottom side...

on a side note, while changing the water in the main tank, i thought a saw a tiny worm trying to escape from the Python thing. upon closer inspection, it was a swordtail fry. it is barely 2mm long.

that spot looks like ick there are two salt grain sized spots side by side on the tail. no sign of flicking or rubbing. no redness either, it is pure white.

i don't anything wrong with them at the moment but one of the older female swordtail seem to have a small white spot on its tail.

i am planning on getting a 65 gallon tank. the foot print is 36" x 18". i live on the 8th floor of a concrete built apartment, should i worry? the tank will be against an inside wall. on the other side of the wall is the washing machine/dryer combo.
