What kind of water changes should I do? 10%? 15%? 20%?

Mopping detergent bottle? Why didn't you use a water bottle or something of that sort, to be on the safe side?

Actually, I believe the dwarf frogs are entirely aquatic.. but then, they just have to go up for air. But as far as the ammonia and nitrite spike.. what can I do to keep it from spiking too high?

Well, I just got a new betta a few days ago.. I got the 20 Gal Long on Wednesday, set it up.. got the Betta on Thursday, waited to get temp to 78 degrees, before I put him in.. then, yesterday, I got 6 Cory's, 1 African Dwarf Frog and a few plants.. I want to add Java fern and Java moss, then...

So, yesterday, I went and bought 6 cory's and an ADF... and some plants. Wondering.. if I should use an airpump? The HOB filter seems to be fine, but not sure how much O2 is actually going in... pH is still high.. that's pretty much the only thing I have a test kit for right now.. can't go to...

20 and starting my first tank.. 20 Gallon long w/ 6 Corydoras(4 albino, 2 darker colored), 1 African Dwarf Frog, 1 butterfly red male Betta... and a few live plants.. 2 Amazon ??? and some other plant I can't seem to find the name of.

I see.. would I eventually need like an air pump of some type if I plan to make it a community tank? Or will a HOB filter work well enough for oxygen?

Another question.. are my supplies good for a community tank? the filter is my main concern.. heater seems to be fine... got it up to 76/77 degrees.

Yeah, I like option 3, but I don't think I ever want to go back to this lady's store again.. she told me all I had to do was test for pH.. and nothing else.. and that I shouldn't even worry because the tap water here is already at 7.8pH.. hmm.. I'll probably go to PetsMart to get a master kit...

Thanks, that was really helpful.. I haven't put the Betta in yet.. should I leave him in a the jar I have him in until the water levels are good or should I just put him in.. don't really want to stress him out, but I think he's stressed either way.. just don't want to make it worse.

Hmm... well, my nitrite and nitrate levels are both at 0.. hardness is at "hard" on this scale.. and the alkalinity is high. The pH is still at about 8.0... still seems pretty high to me..

The pet shop owner I spoke with said Whispers are very inaccurate.. and said that most of them are off by 3 - 4 degrees...
