i wonder what is *too cold* ? thats a very good question, and certainly would appreciate a good version of the right answer.......

ok so....if a fish , say in its natural habitat was swimming around in the nice warm water , say for the sake of my point , 26c , swimming round all day long, when the sun goes to sleep at night does the water temp not drop ?? im willing to take an uneducated guess and say of course it does...

im going to turn my heater off then if your tanks heating up that much, just to see...........

i think ill just add something pointless to add to my post count :unsure: so your telling us that sun is heating your tank up to 29 c ? where do you have it placed ? :blink:

or do what your supposed to and turn the heater down , you would need to remove a lot of water before you can add enough cold to notice a temp change........ :good: hth

its been a while now and my plants, the ones you see on this thread are doing very well, and one of them has got new leaves growing from the tips of the plant , with roots as well dropping into the water , why is this happening plz ? heres a piccy...

are you changing the gravel because you dont like the look of the one you have ? how long have you had the current gravel in the tank ? by the time you have some plants established you wont see more that 30 % of the gravel anyway ... i wouldnt bother myself unless it was benificial...

you know im growing plants because you made a comment on my other thread, lol 1 meter wide 18 deep

i have 2 t5 bulbs , both placed equidistant to the center of the top of the tank. can anyone that knows better suggest to me an ideal bulb placement , should i seperate them ? as they currently are places 5 inches apart im thinking maybe have them 12 inches or so apart ?

a few new plants have been put in now , the others were doing well, so i figured hey , buy some more.............. slow and gradual changes are the order of the day for me, i will be adding taller plants at some point and also changing the layout slightly over time to suit...

if i was you i would look into it some more , you may have heard what you wanted to hear . but i think theres a bit more to carbon in the filter than you realize.............. :drool:
