White Patch?

This evening, I noticed one of my bettas has a white patch on the top of his head. This patch is whitish grey, and probably the of his eye. I know it is not ich, too big, and the color isn't right. My first thought was columnaris, but it doesn't look fuzzy. ANY ideas on what this might be? Should I medicate for columnaris just to be safe?

sounds more like a Saprolegnia (fungus) infection.
treat with bettafix (or melafix at half dose)
