I don't know what species of rainbowfish I should put in my 29 gallon. So far I've got some 2 GBR's, 8 sterbai corydoras, 10 neon tetras. The filter I have is a fluval 406 so it's really overkill. Not worried about overstocking.

I'm deciding to take out the GBR's and put in some Electric blue rams.

I also think I want to take out the sterbai corydoras and breed them so I can get some store credit.

I got the german blue rams I have to spawn multiple times but the eggs almost always got fungused over or eaten, and now I have plans so that won't happen. I plan on breeding them again sometime.

Oops I forgot hehe. These are the two species I'm considering:

Pseudomugil gertrudae
Pseudomugil furcatus

What are your water parameters? GBR prefer pretty soft water and Pseudomogil species prefer slightly harder water, so ideally you would not have them in the same tank.

Imho the natural GBR are much prettier than the electric blue form, which is also less robust. Better not to change this. Keep in mind GBR can only succesfully breed in soft water.
