I have a 60 gallon tank with a shoal of about 10 or 11 neon tetras
well just recently they seem to be, and i quote "fighting" with each other.
They are constantly circling one another nipping and chasing.
They arent bothering any of the other fish but this is stressing me out because it looks somewhat brutal.
Any ideas?
Or has this happened to anyone else before?
Please help

is it possible you have both males and females and they're fighting over the girls? Neon's can be difficult to sex

Ultimately, I don't think that it is anything to worry too much about. Fish in shoals will have spars from time to time for mating rights. It very well could be related to that. You have your neons in a good size shoal. Do any of your neons look "fatter" than the others? Females usually get a little fatter at mating time when they have bellies full of eggs.

What are your water parameters and have you been giving them any live foods? Is the water soft and acidic?

Not sure what the parameters are right now cause im at work :p
but ik that the water is soft and acidic
and yes some do seem to be fatter than the others, they all seem healthy so maybe it is just spars
i feed them brine shrimp every now and again like twice a week but i feed them flake and freeze dried foods everyday along with some algae tablets.
