Recently started to try and get some sort of understanding into my aquarium water. It is a planted 120l aquarium with plenty of Amazon swords, Hogwarts, annubias and java fern.

My fish are 4 bronze cories. 5 black skirt tetra. 3 German blue rams, 1 honey red gourami and 6 lemon tetra.

I would like to check my water and could think of no other place for advice than here!!!

PH 7.2
GH 140
KH 71
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 2.5

It's been 1 week since my water change. Are these the levels I should expect to see? Are any too high/low?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The water is fine. There is no ammonia or nitrite so that means the filters are doing their job, assuming the filters have been running for more than a month. Nitrates are low so that's good.

The pH is slightly alkaline at 7.2 but that is fine and a nice pH to have.

The GH (general hardness) is 140ppm and that is at the top end of soft. It is fine for tetras, gouramis, cories and other soft water fishes.

There is some KH (carbonate hardness) so your pH shouldn't drop suddenly.

All in all, you have soft slightly alkaline water (the pH is really close to neutral) that is ideal for everything you are currently keeping.
