Willard The Betta

Hi everyone! Let me start by saying, I am a proud new owner of Willard the betta! I want only what's best for him, and since I do not have a lot of knowledge in betta fish care, I've been doing some research. I see that velvet is common in betta fish, and Willard has a gold shimmer.... Since you can never be too careful, I'm asking opinions! Velvet or iredescense?
Additionally, Willard is energetic but does display some odd behaviors. Sometimes he flashes and rubs against plants. That could also be from using the wrong water conditioner for the first 2 days in his new tank. I switched from API tap water conditioner after seeing Willard shedding his slime coat the next morning. I did some research and realized the tap water conditioner didn't get rid of ammonia! I immediately switched to API betta water conditioner. It's been 2 days now and he still appears to be clamping his fins (which I'm not evening 100% sure that's what's even happening here lol).... I also think he's beginning to get constipated! Please check out the pictures and tell me if you think he's clamping his fins and if it's shimmer or velvet..... Thanks!
