Using Plastic Salad Bar Bowls, Dangerous?

Is it dangerous to use the plastic salad containers you get from your grocery store at the salad bar, inside your tank? Do they possibly leech anything into the water?

Just curious what do you want them in the tank for, all i can think of is a floating medical tank, but they should be fine as long as you sterlise it.

Keeping Discus and needed to remove the gravel while they're babies. I wanted to keep the plants in there so i put them in the containers with gravel.

Sterilise? I just ran them some tap water over them

In theory any plastic which is food safe should be fish safe.
